Charles has taught or guest lectured at Yale University, Carnegie Mellon University, Whitman College, Emerson College, and the University of California, where he is an Emeritus professor. He’s given talks on topics such as “Writing in Hollywood,” the “History of Drama,” the relationship between the “Military and Popular Culture,” the “History of Spying,” “Arts in Early America,” and “Travel and Creativity”, among other subjects.
When time allows, Charles offers script consulting, re-writes on existing scripts and one-on-one coaching for writers, actors and directors, usually by zoom or written correspondence.
